About Robert Bonomo

Robert Bonomo is a filmmaker, novelist, blogger and esotericist.  He has lived and worked in Luoyang, China, the San Francisco Bay area, Buenos Aires, New York City, Madrid, Kamchatka, Tunis and a few other not so interesting places.

Colin Wilson wrote, “The average man is a conformist, accepting miseries and disasters with the stoicism of a cow standing in the rain.”  Robert has been rained on more than his share, unfortunately, he hasn't taken it with bovine stoicism.

After a successful career in online marketing and advertising where he convinced thousands of people to buy things they didn't really need or want, he decided to pick up pen and paper and begin to write.  A few novels emerged along the way, the most popular of which was the dystopian Cactus Land.  There were others.

This is the dead land
this is cactus land
Here the stone images
Are raised, here they receive
The supplication of a dead man's hand
Under the twinkle of a fading star.

T.S. Eliot

He began blogging on all sorts of topics, they seemed to explode out of him.  He has been published in very diverse media outlets, from Counterpunch to Infowars.

He was even once mentioned in MarketWatch, predicting gold would reach $960.  His piece was referred to as a 'real doozy' by Rupert Murdoch's boys.  Robert took that as a compliment.  Gold never hit $960, but hope springs eternal.
He has also written about astrology, zombies, Ron Paul and cats, among other things.  His articles and novels can be found on his blog, The Cactus Land.

While doing research for one of his novels, he fell down the rabbit hole of the Tarot, which led to an
interest in all things occult.  He is still hopelessly and happily lost in that rabbit hole and hopes to never emerge.

An avid cinema lover and devoted fan of Krzysztof Kieślowski, he decided to try his hand at filmmaking and spent over two years making the surprisingly successful documentary on the major arcana of the Tarot, The 21 Faces of God.  He has been a guest on many of the most popular occult and alternative podcasts, including The Higher Side Chats, Aeon Bytes, Grimerica and Skeptiko.  The film and a selection of his podcast appearances can be found on his YouTube channel.

Robert has become quite an adept Tarot reader.  If you are interested in a reading, you can find out more and arrange for one here.

Gnostic, consummate outsider, occultist, and anarchist, these days he's listening to FIP Radio, working on a new film, reading Tarot cards and dreaming up revolutions.  Check in with him once in awhile, hopefully he'll surprise you.
